demand-led entrepreneurship

Why do startups fail? One of the core reasons is lack of market fit/need.
At Alacrity, we advocate demand-led entrepreneurship to prevent our graduate teams building products that no-one wants or needs.

How do we do this? We engage with private, public & third sector organisations to surface problems they are facing that our teams could solve with a software solution to become our challenge partners.

Partner Advantages

There are 4 key benefits for our challenge partners:

Accelerated innovation

The agile Alacrity teams develop commercially viable products to solve the challenge presented within the 15-month timeframe with no costs to the partner apart from them providing their time

Exclusivity

First access to new innovative products and services

Liberate ideas

Allowing ideas to develop unencumbered from the restrictions typical of large organisations

Corporate Social Responsibility

Supporting employment of recent graduates

Methodology

Strategic Project Partners

Participating teams and the Alacrity Foundation work together with strategic project partners to define projects for which there is clear and present demand for a solution. Once projects are selected, teams proceed under the guidance of the Alacrity Foundation and industry partner executives – the engagement of the latter are crucial. Industry partners provide project teams with operational support, a vast network of contacts, access to customers and strategic relationships with larger established companies.
